Traverse — Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Traverse ("Traverse", "we", "us"), operating in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana.

They apply to everyone who uses the Traverse rider app, driver app, or related services. By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

Questions: traversegh@gmail.com

1. Who may use Traverse

You must be at least 18 years old and a student, staff member, or approved driver at a participating school.

You must give accurate registration details. Signing in uses one-time codes sent to your email and phone, so keep those to yourself and do not pass them on to anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Traverse. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at the address above if you think someone else has access to it.

2. What Traverse is

Traverse is a technology platform that connects riders with independent drivers. We are not a transport company and we do not provide transport ourselves.

When you book a ride, the transport itself is provided by an independent driver, not by us. That driver is responsible for the ride, for their vehicle, and for driving safely and lawfully.

What we do provide is the technology: matching riders to nearby drivers, calculating and collecting fares on the driver's behalf, and the records and support around that.

Participating schools set the fares for their own campus and decide which drivers are approved to operate there. Approval by a school is a check on eligibility — it does not make that driver an employee of Traverse or of the school.

Drivers are independent contractors. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship, a partnership, or an agency beyond collecting fares.

3. Rides and bookings

4. Fares, wallets and payment

Your wallet

Your wallet holds prepaid credit for rides. It is not a bank account, not a deposit, and earns no interest. We are not a bank and your wallet balance is not protected by any deposit-protection scheme.

Your wallet balance is your money. You may ask for any unused balance to be returned to you at any time, by contacting your school's Traverse administrator or us at the address above. We will return it by the same method you paid in where practical.

We do not expire unused wallet balances.

5. Cancellations and refunds

6. Rules for riders

You agree not to:

We may suspend or close your account for breaking these rules.

7. Rules for drivers

If you drive on Traverse, you confirm and agree that:

If you drive a vehicle you do not own

That arrangement is entirely between you and the vehicle's owner, and Traverse Rides is not a party to it. What you pay them, who pays for servicing, maintenance, repair or damage, how long you keep the vehicle and what happens if they want it back are matters for the two of you. We do not set those terms, hold them, or take any part in a disagreement about them. Traverse does not pay repair or maintenance costs.

What we do require is the same of every vehicle on the platform, whoever owns it: the cover, licence and roadworthiness in section 7 above. We do not provide vehicle insurance.

Your school may suspend your access, or terminate it permanently, for breach of these terms or on safety grounds. Termination is permanent.

8. Safety

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. No wording below overrides this paragraph.

Beyond that:

10. Suspension and termination

We or your school may suspend or close your account for breach of these terms, for suspected fraud, or on safety grounds.

You may delete your rider account at any time in the app. You will be asked first to finish or cancel any ride in progress, settle any unpaid fare, and deal with any remaining wallet balance, so that deleting never quietly costs you money.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Traverse Rides after that means you accept the change. If you do not accept it, you may delete your account.

12. Complaints and disputes

Please raise any problem with your school's Traverse administrator first — most issues about a fare, a ride, or a driver are resolved fastest there. If it is not resolved, contact us at traversegh@gmail.com and we will respond within 14 days.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have exclusive jurisdiction.
